hogfather book and movie review

hogfather is a funny fantasy xmas story. the hogfather is a funny take on santa where this santa is half man and half boar. These creatures that hate humans hire a killer to get rid of the hogfather and the grim reaper ends up having to do the hogfathers job because if kids stop believing in the hogfather then the sun will not raise ever again. because the hogfather gets taken out of the picture people start to believe in stuff like a oh god of hangovers and a animal that eats stocks. This is a great and very funny xmas story. A friend of mine told me about the book and i read it and laughed my ass off. It was made into a great tv movie. The movie did stay pretty faithful to the book. I was surprised at how good the f/x was for a tv movie. The cast for the movie was perfect. I would give the book 4 stars and the movie 3 stars.

doctor who news

next saturday night on the BBC will be the doctor who xmas episode. It will be on at 9:00. they are doing a new story that mixes in a christmas carol. I have seen the tv ads for it and it looks good. I read one early review for it that said it,s great and alot of fun. It,s doctor who and chrismas carol, one of my fave tv shows plus my fave xmas story makes me hope it will be something cool.

I got a shock today when i walked into border books and saw tom clancy has came out with a new book. Tom clancy. last book came out like 10 years ago. So color me surprised when i saw a brand new tom clancy. The new book is called dead or alive. It,s about jack ryan jr, and i guess we do see daddy jack ryan in a bit part. I loved tom clancys jack ryan book series so at some point I,ll take his new book out from the library. If it,s good then i,ll buy it and if it sucks i did,t waste any money on it.

I just finished reading the new alex cross book by james patterson. I was a big fan of pattersons alex cross book series. They were scary as hell, smart, shocking, and most of all fun to read. The first 4 books are excellent and i would tell anyone to read them. Book 5 was his first bad book in the series then james patterson came back strong with book 6 and after that the series started going down hill. A friend of mine first gave up on james patterson then i also gave up on him. After reading this new book which is called cross fire, I think i was right to give up on james patterson. He is no where near as good as he once was. He even put in some dumb soap opera crap that had nothing to do with the story. He did bring back a major bad guy but even that could,t save the story. These books were smart, intresting, surprising, could,t put it down books but now i really don,t care which is too bad. So if your a james patterson fan take this one out of your library, thats what i did. I give the book 2 stars.

I think i have told most of you by now i,m having a psychic come to the house saturday night jan 8th at 6:00. The reason i,m asking people now if they would like to come is so i can know how many people will be here. The way it will work is if you want a one on one with the psychic it will cost you 50$. I told the psychic i have 12 people for her to see. I know not everyone will want to do it because of the fact eveeryone spent a ton of money at xmas time or you don,t believe in psychics. I still hope people will come to see whats it is all about. I hope people will come to support me and my family. I have seen this woman and i was so impressed by her that i,m having her come to my house. Everyone is welcome to come and just watch. She will end up seeing all 12 people over a hour.If i did,t believe she was the real deal i would,t be having her come to my house.

The brattle theatre can,t get a copy of raiders of the lost ark so instead they will be playing temple of doom. I think this sucks. I really would have liked to have seen raiders on the big screen.

my review of harry potter 7 part 1

For anyone who does,t know the last harry potter movie was cut in half. It is one movie only they cut it in half. I have to say i really liked the movie. The 3 leading actors and actress were excellent in this first half. This is the best acting they have done ever in the whole series. As far as acting goes they are at the top of there game in this movie. It is exciting, has some good action and still has some funny lines. This is the darkest one out of them all. The movie did make me cry. We see alot of characters we like or love get killed in this movie. I would say this one is 90 to 95 per cent faithful to the book. I was excited when i first heard they were cutting it in half because it meant they were going to put the whole book into the movie.Out of all the movies there was nothing they could leave out because you really need to keep everything from the book in this movie. Everything in some shape or form matters and needs to be in the movie. My problem with the movie is parts of it move too fast and they added little bits to it that just were not needed. Like at the start of the movie when harry is taken from his aunts house and the death eaters attack everyone, it,s good and exciting but moves too fast and you don,t get to see everything that happens. I would give it 3 stars.

We may get a remake of the wizard of oz. It would be made by robert zemeckis. I,m sorry but the wizard of oz is a classic movie and it does,t and sould,t be remade by anyone ever. I,m going to have to read the book to see just what they could add to the movie. I would rather see them do a sequel to the wizard of oz. For anyone who does,t know there is a whole series of oz books. I think theres like 14 OZ books in all. Pick any of the other books and make that book into a new OZ movie. Has anyone ever read the oz books? I want to hear what you have to say about the wizard of oz getting remade.

I went to the movies today and saw skyline. I sould have knew it be a awful movie from the fact that there was no review of it in the boston globe yesterday. I usually read reviews for movies before they come out and i did,t see or read any reviews of skyline before yesterday. So someone knew this movie was bad which is why there were no early reviews for it. Skyline ripped off almost every alien and scifi movie ever made. They did,t even try with the movie. The aliens and ships looked good which is the only nice thing i can say about the movie. I did,t care about any of the characters at all. Thank god the movie was only 1 hr 45 mins long. I only saw this bad movie because david wanted to see it. Oh the movie started 20 mins late, so that sould have been a sign that we were about to see a bad movie. Don,t see skyline, it,s just a really bad and awful movie. Someone tell david since i paid for skyline he has to pay for harry potter 7.

I watched murder on the orient express tonight. This is a great movie. It has a all star cast. They don,t make movies like this anymore. It,s based on the classic agatha christie book. For anyone who likes mystery movies, this is a must see movie. I was,t expecting it to be as funny as it was. I laughed alot during the movie. It does a good job of keeping you guessing as to who the killer is. It,s not really a exciting movie. It,s the kind of movie where actors and actresses get to show off how good they can be when they are given good characters to play. Some of the big stars of the movie are sean connery, lauren bacall, john gielgud, martin balsam, anthony perkins, albert finney, michael york. Albert finney made for a good hercule poirot but he looked nothing like how i pictured the character to look like from the books. If you can find this movie at your local blockbuster rent it. I give it 4 stars.

I just read theres talk about a 3d x-files movie. I really think they need to do a 3d one to make up for the crappy 2nd movie. I like to see the series go out on a high note instead of letting the sucky 2nd movie be the end of the series. I was a huge x-files fan and as much as i did,t like the last 2 seasons of the show or the series finale, i like to see chris carter come up with a good ending for the x-files. For anyone who was a fan of the drew carey show guess what, Buzz beer is now real. Yes i read in the boston globe the other day there is a real drink thats a mix of beer and coffee. I wonder if drew carey has heard about this yet. Parents are of course upset about this new drink and collage kids being dumb have had too much of this drink and gotten sick from it. Theres been a uproar over this real life buzz beer. I forget what the name is of the drink. I,ll look for the newspaper that i saw it in and look for the name of the drink.

John carpenter came up with the idea of doing new halloween movies that would have nothing to do with michael myers. His idea was to put out a new scary movie every october that would somehow be about or take place around halloween. Each movie would be diffent and original. The downfall of this awesome idea was calling the first movie halloween 3 season of the witch. Now because it was called halloween 3, everyone expected it to be about michael myers. When the movie came out and everyone went to see it and found out hey michael myers is not in this movie, fans got pissed off. I think it would have been a better idea to drop the halloween title and just called it season of the witch or at the very least they sould have dropped the number off the title. Because michael myers had nothing to do with the movie, fans hated the movie, no one really went to see it and because it bombed at the box office that is what killed i think such a great idea. I think the idea is still good and i like to see john carpenter still do something with the idea.

Well it,s halloween and i,ll be spending the rest of the day watching scary movies. I,ll start off with john carpenters halloween, then watch trick or treat, from beyond the grave, fright night, in the mouth of madness. I read yesterday my book of all edgar allen poes storys and poems. I read it every halloween. I been reading a tradeback of the tomb of dracula. It,s the comic book where we first meet blade, the vampire slayer. I don,t know what scary/horror book i want to start reading next. I been meaning to read salems lot, I,m thinking of reading still life with crows plus i have a john saul book i picked up at the library. So what sould i read next.

Halloween is this coming sunday and stores are already starting to get rid of all the halloween stuff and candy and are starting to put out xmas crap. I,m sorry but i think that is just wrong plus i don,t want to think of xmas yet. I mean people are going to be buying last min candy this weekend. people will be buying costumes, makeup and other stuff this weekend for halloween. So i want to ask everyone how does it make sense to get rid of all the halloween stuff when halloween is just days away. I,m the kind of person that likes to take down stuff after the holiday is over. This goes for halloween,xmas,easter. I,m ready to take things down the very next day after the holiday is over and done. I mean i been invited to a halloween party this weekend and i,m seeing my friends and godson this weekend for what sounds like a mini halloween bash so i like alot of other people will be buying last min stuff for halloween. So what does everyone think, do you agree with me or think i,m crazy.

review of suspiria

Suspiria is one of my fave dario argento movies. This is the first movie in his 3 mothers series. This first one is about the mother of sighs. This movie is a mix of supernatural and a giallo. It,s about a girl who goes to a ballet school. This girl slowly doscovers the school has it,s history based in witchcraft and finds out by the end that it,s run by the mother of sighs and her coven. The movie has a very dream like feeling to it. It uses color, sound, in a way i have never seen before. It,s almost like a fairy tale. It is very bloody and gory but it,s still a good scary movie. This was dario argentos first supernatural movie. He wanted to do something diffent from his other movies but he still added a little bit of his giallo work into it because he knew thats what his fans liked from him. I think even if he left out the giallo stuff and made it just a supernatural movie, it would have worked just as well. This is the first dario argento movie i ever saw and it,s the first one i got on dvd. I asked one of my friends to get it one year for xmas or my birthday. After that i always had my friend get me one of his movies for every birthday and xmas and because of my friend, I now own most of dario argentos movies. I would give suspiria 4 stars.

My review of the bird with the crystal plumage

Here is my first review of dario argentos first giallo. The bird with the crystal plumage was dario argentos very first movie. I think it is a great movie. In some ways you can tell it,s his first movie but it other ways you think it was made by a old pro like hitchcock. You see right from the start things that will become part of dario argentos later movies. Like his killer always wears black gloves and you see things from the killers point of view but you never see the killers face until the end of the movie. It,s one of the many ways dario argento wants to keep you guessing as to who could the killer be. For a first movie it,s pretty well made, it has a fast pace to it. The movie does have some really good scares to it. It does a good job of keeping you on the edge of your seat. You have no idea who the killer is and when do you find out at the end it is a shocker. If your looking for a good scary movie thats not really bloody or gory then you sould see this movie. The acting is pretty decent,good for darios first movie. Oh before i forget, the movie did come out back in 1970. look for more reviews later on this week.

the history of giallos

I,m going to tell everyone about giallos. Now i,m sure your thinking what the hell is a giallo. It is a type of movie. A giallo is both a mystery and horror movie. Like most mysterys it makes you think and also it scares you like a horror movie. Giallo is the italan word for the color yellow. Every mystery book back in the 30s and 40s had yellow covers because yellow was the cheapest color paper to buy and use in those days. The giallo movies were created by mario bava in the 1960s but most horror fans would say dario argento created the giallo movies. Dario argento helped make giallos as big as they are now. A giallo is kind of like a cross between a hitchcock movie and a slasher movie. Giallos are kind of like a smart slasher movie where instead of it being just about blood, guts, gore, it cares about the story it,s telling and characters. My fave giallos are all made by dario argento. I,m going to start writing reviews of dario argentos giallos. Look for the first review tonight.

I,m sorry everone i did mean to write more then i have been. My sister got me to join a dating website. My sister has been wanting to do the whole dating website thing for me forever and i finally said yes to her. I got told about one website from a friend and it,s the one i,m trying. The nice thing about the website is that it,s free. The website is plenty of fish.com So thats what i been doing instead of writing on my blog. Since this is the week of halloween, i,m going to try to make sure i write something everyday this week. I,ll keep people updated about how i do with the website.

we will see a ghost rider 2 with nic cage coming back and we may see the HIGHLANDER himself chris lambert starring in the movie. I don,t know what role he would play. I have to say i love the ghost rider comic books but the first movie just did,t do it for me. I hope this sequel will be better and i hope they are basing it more on the comics. Theres lots of great storys from the comics that would make for good fun movies.

doctor who news

well series 6 of doctor who will film it,s first 2 episodes here in the good old USA. They will be filming in utah. The story will take place in the late 60s and we will see the doctor end up at the white house. When i find out more i,ll update this post later on. Series 6 will start next spring.

book review

I,m going to be on a little vampire kick and I started by reading the strain. Guillermo Del Toros the strain is the best vampire book i have read in years. It is one of the most original ideas for a vampire story i have ever read. It is a mix of CSI, salems lot, I am legend. It takes the idea of what if vampires were real and still did exist today. It looks at being turned into a vampire the same way you might pass on a cold or flu to other people but a vampire still has to bite you. The book is scary, bloody, gross. It keeps you guessing at what will happen next. This is a must read for halloween. It is worth buying. If your looking for a good scary book to read then pick up the strain. I give it 4 stars.

katy perry and elmo video

This will be the only non halloween/horror thing i will write about. Everyone has made a big deal about when katy perry was on sesame st and she did one of her songs with elmo and parents feel that she showed too much cleavage and because of this sesame st did,t air her song with elmo. I first have to say really stuff like this is still a issue in the year 2010. I could understand parents making a big deal about this 20, 30 or 40 years ago but to make a big deal of something like this today to me is a joke. When they say parents you know they really mean mothers, because lets face it no father would have a problem with katy perry showing a little cleavage. I know people would say i,m a guy so of course i don,t have a problem with this. I saw the video and katy perry really does,t show that much cleavage, she,s pretty covered up. I think the big problem here is parents forget to do one big thing and thats to look at it from your kids point of view. I have a 1 and a half year old godson that loves elmo and i know if he saw the video guess what he would only care about elmo. My godson would,t give a crap about katy perry, he be too busy watching elmo run around and being silly. My godson would care about katy perry if he were older but guess what he,s still just a little kid. I think sesame st sould air the song. The dress she wears has this lacy thing that covers up her chest and you really don,t see much cleavage. I think this is something that really sould,t be a issue with all the other things going on in the world today.

Hello everyone sorry i have not posted anything in a while. I just been lazy but you be seeing me i hope write something new if not everyday then a few times a week. I love october because of halloween. I love halloween. I have been a life long horror fan and I love seeing all the old classics getting played on tv, seeing what new movies will be coming out in theatres and on dvd. I,m not the huge horror fan i used to be but when october rolls around, it becomes all horror movies/tv shows for a month for me. So for the month of october i,ll be writing about horror movies, books, comic books and tv shows. If anyone wants to write up a review for your fave scary/horror movie let me know. You,ll notice i,ll be writing more about the classic movies instead of anything new because i really don,t like todays horror movies. I,ll write up something telling you why i don,t like todays horror movies and i,ll write about why i love the old movies more then todays stuff.

book signing

Good news everybody, Guillermo del toro and chuck hogan will be doing a book signing this thursday at the harvard book store. It starts at 6:00. Anyone who goes sould plan on getting there as soon as you can because i have gone to a few book signings and sometimes the lines can be insanely long and depending on who it is and which bookstore your at, you may get told the person can,t write to seth from whoever it is. Right now i,m planning on going, anyone who wants to get something signed let me know.

lost series review part 2

well heres the rest of my review of lost. Season 3 ended on a big twist that we saw 2 of the characters somehow got off the island. During season 4 with this new twist, we get flash forwards that show us what the characters lives were like after they got off the island. Was this interesting hell yes. did we really need these flash forwards no i don,t think we did. I felt these flash forwards were point less for season 4. When we get to season 5 the flash forwards worked better and what i did,t like about the flash forwards were they took away the mystery of not only how the characters would get off the island but who would get off the island. Season 5 gave us alot of answers but we got have gotten a ton more answers. with season 5 we saw some of the characters time travel back to the late 1970s. I love all the star wars jokes, they were just great. Now onto the final season, it picks up right where season 5 left off and we get to see what everybodys lives would have been like if the plane did get to land in LA. I feel like as interesting as that storyline was, we did,t need to see it for the whole season. I feel that once again there was this side story that i did,t care about and i was being taken away from the main story. I feel that seasons 5 and 6 could have answered all the big questions and by the time you get to the end of the series, they don,t answer most of the big questions and had i watched lost from the very start the ending would have made me insanely mad as hell. I did like the ending but it did,t feel long enough and we sould have spent more time on the island. The ending was sad. I watched the mini episode right after the series finale and if you want answers and a happy ending make sure to watch that mini episode. Lost was a excellent show. I agree with my friends the drinkwater boys that the show really was about the characters and not whole the crazy stuff like time tavel, flash forwards, gods and monsters. It is a show that i,ll watch again and again. Lost gets 4 stars.

lost series review part 1

I just finished watching lost. It is one of the best tv shows i have watched in years. Most of whats on tv now is crap, which is why i watch alot of dvds and love watching stuff like lost on dvd. The first season is all set up for whats to come later on during the series. Lost used flash backs to not only tell us what everyones lives were like before landing on the island but it was a way of letting us get to know the characters better. I feel that starting with season 2 the flash backs were pointless and even pissed me off. I,ll tell you why the flash backs pissed me off because picture yourself reading a great story and while your enjoying the main story a side story/subplot comes up out of nowhere and your taken out of the main story. Being taken out of the main story is what pissed me off. during season 2 we start to get some answers but get more questions. Season 2 ended on another cliffhanger and during season 3 most fans were getting pissed because we were not getting enough answers but only getting more questions.

comic book news

I want to start getting the word out about my friend jim biggies comic book ROBOT GOD AKAMATSU. The comic book comes out in october. It,s old school stuff like the original transformers cartoon. It,s crazy, action packed and funny. When the comic book comes out, my friend jim will be doing a signing at new england comics in malden sq. It,s my goal to make sure the comic book store is packed for the signing. I want my friends first signing to be a big hit. When it gets near to the release date i,ll create a event page on facebook and i,ll be inviting everyone i know to the signing. I want my whole family, friends to please come to this signing. I don,t care if you don,t read comic books, I,m sure everyone has kids, grandkids, cousins you can give the comic to. I,m sure everyone has a few bucks to spend on a comic book. You never know if my friend jim becomes the next stan lee then his comic book will become worth a lot of money. You,ll be helping someone get there big break and hopfully help make him a house hold name. I know jim would do the same thing for me. I plan on asking my friends ian and allen to review the comic book on there website Omega Level and i,ll also write in to other websites like aint it cool news to review the comic book.

I just read that doctor whos 6th series/season instead of being the usually 13 episode season it will be cut in half and it will be 2 short series/seasons. So we will get series/seasons 6 and 7 in the same year. The way it will be done is each series will be 6 or 7 epsiodes long. Series 6 will end on a big cliffhanger. We will get series 6 next spring then get series 7 next fall. I don,t know what to think of this idea. I,m going to wait until i read more about what they plan to do. I like to know what you who fans think about this idea.

I just posted some thoughts about the harry potter movies and theres alot of stuff i did,t get to write about, which is why i,ll update that post sometime soon. This is about how the harry potter movies needed to be longer. I know alot of people now would say movies have gotten to be too damn long. For the most part i agree with that. A lot of movies really don,t need to be as long as they are. But some movies like the harry potter series needed to be longer. I say with the 3d movie they stopped being kid/family films and started becoming real fantasy movies like the lord of the rings. The problem is warner bros has only thought of the harry potter movies as being just for kids and never saw just how big the adult fan base is for these so called kid movies. There is alot of big stuff that needed to be in each movie. Like in half blood prince in the book there is a big battle that happens at hogwarts. That was cut out of the movie but it,s something we sould have seen. Also for half blood prince we sould have seen the white tomb but again it was cut out of the movie. For movie 5 there was stuff with harrys aunt that sould have been in the movie but was cut out. For movie 3 there was alot of stuff about harrys parents that was left out of the movie. If warner bros did,t want to put out long versions for the movie theatres fine. They sould have put out longer versions of the movies on dvd. Like movie 3 sould have been 3 hrs long. movie 4 sould have been 3 and a half to 4 hrs long. movie 5 sould have been 3 hrs long. movie 6 sould have been 4 hrs long. I like to see what you harry potter fans have to say about this.

movie review

I have finished watching the harry potter movies. It,s interesting watching the series go from a kid/family movie to a fantasy movie. The movies do become bigger and more epic as they go on. You watch the magic world really open up and you see just how big the magic world is. We have never seen anything like the harry potter movies and i doubt we will ever see anything like it again. The fact that they kept the same cast of actors and actress for 7 movies is nothing short of amazing. To see the same people come back for each and every movie is just unheard of for a series this long. When dealing with such a long term movie series, the one thing ever actor and actress will say is they never get a chance to let there character grow and change over the course of that series. That,s why sean connery left the james bond series because the big bosses wanted to keep 007 the way he was and connery wanted to see the character grow and do more with james bond. For such a big series like harry potter to have seen all the characters be allowed to grow up and change over the course of the series has been great. Most family films never have any edge or darkness to them and the harry potter movies did,t shy away from that. We have seen these movies become about these characters growing up and facing real life issues like death and standing up for others and what you believe in. It will be interesting seeing these characters become adults in the last movie.

Great news tv fans, the funniest game show on tv, wipeout will be coming back next summer for a 4th season. I,m excited about this, since theres not much new on tv during the summer, something like wipeout is just good mindless fun. It,s easly the funniest show that i watch. I laugh my ass off when watching it every week with my aunt and cousin. Wipeout even became big enough that theres a wipeout video game for the nintendo wii. I wish they would put the first 3 seasons of wipeout on dvd.

movie review

I saw the other guys and it was better then i expected it to be. I can be hard when it comes to todays comedys. I laughed more then i thought i would. I like will ferrell. I,m not a big fan of his, I think his movies are very hit and miss. I think his best movie is still anchorman. I think mark wahlberg did pretty well for his first comedy movie. Mark wahlberg really played off well with will ferrell. It is a funny movie. It is wacky, crazy, the action is played for laughs, it,s just silly and over the top. I give it 3 stars. Comedys are sometimes the kind of movies that i need to see twice to see if it was as funny as i thought. If you see a comedy more then once in the theatre and it can still make you laugh then it,s a funny movie. If your a will ferrell fan then go see the other guys. If your not a fan of his then wait for this movie to come out on dvd.

golf tournament

This coming friday is andrews golf tournament. I hope to see everyone there. If you can,t make it for the golf tournament, mybe you can make it to the dinner that night. The tournament starts at 1:30 and the dinner starts at 6:30. It,s at mount hood golf course.

I just finished watching harry potter and the chamber of secrets. I have not watched it in a long time and I,m surprised at how well the movie holds up. It,s still my favorite out of all the movies. The f/x still holds up well after 8 years. Dobby, the giant spiders and giant snake look good and you do believe they are real and not just some special effect. It,s funny seeing how young the actors and actress who play harry, ron and hermione look. You can tell how much better they were in this first sequel. It,s a fun and funny movie. Theres more magic and creatures in this movie then in the rest of them. I say this is one of the very rare sequels that's better then the first movie. The movie did a excellent job of bringing the book to life. I plan on watching the rest of the harry potter movies. I give this movie 4 stars. richard harris was just perfect as dumbledore. You could,t have gotten anyone else for the role. He was dumbledore. It,s such a shame that he did,t live long enough to do the other movies. I believe this was richard harris last movie and he went out on a high note.

I watched the new clash of the titans for all of you and you can thank me later for saving you time and money. I watch bad movies so that you don,t have too. Wow what a awful movie. I think if i had gone to see it in the theatre i would have walked out of the movie. It takes almost a hr for anything good to happen and i was just bored and did,t care at all what was happening. After the first giant monster shows up, which looked a little above what you see on the scifi ch, I used the fast forward button to check out the other monsters then i shut the movie off and put on a much better movie to watch. That's time and money i,ll never get back. So please everyone don,t rent the remake, you be better off renting or buying the original movie. I,ll be nice and give it 1 star for at least having a great cast.

Outer limits was the same kind of show as twilight zone only most of it,s storys were scifi stuff. I,m kind of surprised it,s taken this long for someone to do a outer limits movie. My friend jim has been working on his own comic book for the past year. The comic book is called ROBOT GOD AKAMATSU. The comic book will get published this october. The comic is a mix of the old robot cartoons like transformers and the old monster movies like godzilla. It all takes place today in boston. Picture godzilla fighting a giant robot in downtown boston and that gives you a idea of what the comic will be like. I,m excited for my friend, this is his dream to have his own published comic book and his dream comes true this fall. I hope everyone will run out to buy a copy of his comic book.He has,t worked on it alone, he worked on it with frankie b. washingtion. Hey everyone guess what, A tv classic is coming back this fall. It,s Elvira,s movie macabre is coming back 9-25. Yes elvira herself is coming back to host the show again. I,m sure alot of people will think she,s too old but you know what, I say she still looks damn good for her age and i,m sure she will still be really funny. I can,t wait to see what B-movies she will play on her show. I met the actress who plays elvira and even without the makeup, wig, dress, she still looked good and she was very nice, firendly, talked with all her fans, signed whatever the fans asked her to sign. I,ll be checking out her new show when it starts. I,ll update with what channel and time it will be on.

I just read that some of the big wigs at pixar are going to help work on the new muppet movie. I,m excited as hell about this, having the pixar people working on the muppet movie makes me very hopeful that this new movie will be awesome. I now have high hopes for the new muppet movie. By the time it comes out my godson and nephew will be old enough to take them to see it. I,m a life long muppet fan and I really want to see this movie kick ass and take names. That muppet music video from last year proves that the muppets can still work for today and they are still funny as hell. Well theres a new scooby doo series and it,s called scooby doo mystery Inc. It,s on monday nights at 7:00 on cartoon network. This new series takes the gang back to high school. I don,t like that in this new version velma and shaggy are dating. Yes you read that right velma is dating shaggy. My first problem with this is that velma would never ever date someone like shaggy. It makes no sense having velma and shaggy dating. Fred and daphne make sense as being together but shaggy and velma. I think someone ate too many scooby snacks when coming up with that idea. In this new version velma has been made to look hotter and buster. All the characters still have there classic looks. I like that for this series there will be a main mystery for the gang to work on. This new show will more about the characters and not just the mysterys they look into. I don,t like that they made fred clueless as to how daphne feels about him. Shaggy is still the same. scooby is still the same. I don,t know what to think of daphne and velma yet. I think old scooby fans will like this new series. The vocie cast is mindy cohn as velma, grey delisle as daphne, matt Lillard as shaggy, frank welker as fred and casey kasem as shaggys dad.

Well I just read that it,s offical ed norton is not coming back to play bruce banner/the hulk in the avengers movie or any future hulk sequels. I have liked both actors that have played dr.banner in ang lee,s hulk movie and the new hulk movie from 2 years ago. For my money bill bixby will always be bruce banner to me. I think thats the kind of actor they sould look for, the everyman kind of actor. Don,t look for a greeky or nerdy guy, don,t look for a studly guy, don,t look at someone like ed norton or even chris bale. Try to find the next bill bixby. I don,t know who i want to see cast as bruce banner. I think mybe it be a good idea to look for a up coming actor that no one knows yet. I think it does suck that ed norton is not coming back because they have done such a awesome job tieing the marvel movies together and it would have been nice to see every actor from each marvel movie to star in the avengers movie. I just want to see a hulk sequel. I,m excited to see my fave marvel hero hulk in the avengers but i really want to see the green guy get another movie of his own.

We will see the return of beavis and butthead on MTV. Oh hell i think this must be one of the signs that means the end of the world is coming soon. They are really bringing back beavis and butthead, WHY GOD WHY. I hated it when it was on during the 1990s and now it,s making a comeback. I never got into it and i never understood what people liked about the cartoon. Let me ask any fans out there but did,t beavis and butthead get killed off in the series finale. Mike judge is writing it and it will be 30 episodes long. It will be just like the old series where they make fun of music vids and do dumb crap as well. Don,t ask me when it,s coming back because i don,t know but i would,t expect to see it until next year would be my best guess.

It sounds like grindhouse will finally be released on dvd the way it was in the movie theatres. That means both movies back to back with the fake movie previews in between the movies. Grindhouse was 3 hrs long so they can put the whole movie on one disc. I like to see it as a 2 disc dvd, disc 2 would have nothing but extras on it. I did,t love grindhouse but it was cool and diffent which is what i liked about it. I may write up a review of it at some point.

I went to the movies and saw toy story 3. I loved the movie. Pixar never lets me down. I look forward to every new pixar movie that comes out every summer and this was the one movie i was most excited about seeing and it did,t let me down. It,s not the best one of the series but it is still a excellent movie. I really hope this is the last one because theres no way they could ever top this movie. This is the must see movie of the summer for animation fans. The toy story trilogy is now one of the best movie trilogys of all time. Pixar gave it the perfect ending.I,m manly enough to admit i had a tear in my eye by the end of the movie. It is funny, the movie keeps you laughing and also on the edge of your seat. You end up worried about what might happen to the toys near the end. It does a good job of making fun of all those prison escape movies. The movie would be scary for little kids. This would be fine for kids 8 and older. I love pixar and in my book pixar can do no wrong. One of the new toys big baby is creepy. I would see toy story 3 again in theatres it is that good. Toy story 3 gets 3 and a half stars.

I just read theres talk of doing a movie based on stephen kings book IT. IT is one of kings best books and it is one of his most scary and creepy novels. IT is also one of kings longest books. The book is over a 1000 pages long. They want to do IT as one movie but the good news is the movie would be rated R. Now heres the problem with doing IT as one movie, theres just too much story and too many characters to do it justice as one movie. The way i would do it is I take the backstory of the kids and do that as one movie and then take the main story of the main characters as adults and do that as movie number 2. To put it in movie terms I do the back story as the prequel and the main story as the sequel. The reason why it,s good news the movie is rated R is because too many horror movies now adays are PG-13 so that more kids and teens can see them. IT is kings most frighting, scary, bloody, gory story. IT is the stuff nightmares are made of and king pulls no punchs with his story. The movie would need to be a horror movie for adults. I may not be the huge horror fan i once was but i still would want to see IT as the biggest and best horror movie ever from one of stephen kings best books. I still want the movie version of IT to be scary as hell.

Well I saw the teaser preview for the last harry potter movie. It showed stuff that we will not see until the 2nd half of the movie comes out next year. Now for anyone out there that does,t know yet the movie has been cut in half. This means it,s a 2 part movie. Now what this really means is that they made ONE MOVIE BUT CUT IT IN HALF.The whole movie when watched together will be like 5 or 5 and a half hrs long. I hope the first half which comes out this november will be 2 and a half hrs long and I really hope the 2nd half is 3 hrs long. Why do i hope it,s 3 hrs long because theres so much story that we have to see that the 2nd half needs to be 3 hrs long. Theres nothing they can cut out, EVERYTHING HAS TO BE IN THAT 2ND HALF. This is why I was excited when they said they were doing it as a 2 parter because it meant they would put the WHOLE BOOK INTO THE MOVIE. Theres really nothing they could leave or cut out because everything in the last book answers some big ? or theres payoff to stuff thats been building up over the whole series. This is the one movie i mybe think about going to the big midnight premire for. Heres something I like to ask all the harry potter fans, do you think you could watch all 6 movies in one day before going to see the last one?

I keep reading about scream 4. This new movie is going to comment on all the horror movies that have came out in the last 10 years. I think it will be intresting to see how wes craven addresses all the remakes, japanese craze of the early 00s, what people call torture porn. Torture porn is movies like saw and hostel. People came up with the term touture porn because of how bloody, gory and gruesome those movies are. Someone would say saw is nothing but people being tortured but i would disagree with that. The saw movies are smarter then that and unlike your usually slice/dice horror movies you have to keep track of everything that happens because the movies are also like mysterys where there are clues dropped though out the movie and everything makes sense by the end of the movie. I would say people are right when they say a movie like hostel is all about the blood, gore and guts.

Well I just read that sam raimi may do a prequel to the wizard of oz. I love sam raimi but I don,t think i want to see him do a oz movie. He is not one of the people i think of to do a new oz movie. I rather see him do something else. Besides after the horror show that was the new alice in wonderland movie, I shudder to think how badly hollywood would screw up the land of oz. I have never read the oz books. Has anyone ever read the oz books? Are the books good?

my cookout

I,m bringing back my cookout. This will be my first cookout i have had since summer 2007. For anyone who has never been to my cookout before let me give you a little history about my cookout. I had my first cookout the summer i turned 21 and my friends jim and mike came, i think my aunt ellen also came for a short time. I spent alot of money on food and drinks. My friends ate they weight in food that day. I did,t want to waste all that food so i told them keep eating. My coookout slowly grew in size over the years. My friends even gave my cookout a name, The all you can eat meat retreat. They called it that because at my cookouts theres nothing but meat. I had my cookout for 9 years in a row. It was,t fun for me to do anymore, I did everything myself, got the food, set things up, spent all day cooking, cleaning up that night or the next day. Since I have not had it in so long I thought it,s finally time to bring it back. I don,t know when it will be yet, I,m going to talk to people and figure out what weekend is good for everyone. I hope everyone can come to the return of the all you can eat meat retreat 2010.

Golf tournament 2010

Well it's that time of year again for the annual Andrew Dargan Golf tournament. This years tournament is August 13th friday with a start time of 1:30. After the golf tournament we have a dinner then a raffle then a silent auction. To play in the golf tournament is 125$ per person that gets you a teeshirt, lunch, dinner, 18 holes of golf plus a golf cart. If you are interested in only going to the dinner then the dinner is 50$ per person and you get a teeshirt. The dinner is always excellent. We are always looking for volunteers. We have a website dargangolf.org The tournament is at Mount hood golf course in melrose. Most of the money we rasie goes to cab health. It is a place for people to get help with drug addictions and other addictions. We have this golf tournament in honor of my brother andrew who died from drugs. Andrew was a great brother and son, friend, andrew has a twin sister katie. Andrew was a hockey player his whole life and he got into golf because his friends and father, cousins played golf. We have this golf tournament to remember andrews life and to help other people and familys that deal with drug addictions. The golf tournament is always a great fun day and I hope everyone will come to this years tournament.

book review

I just read a book called GEEKTASTIC STORIES FROM THE NERD HERD. It's a bunch of short storys about diffent kinds of geeks. You know people who love star trek, star wars, comic books, scifi, horror, bad movies, rocky horror picture show. The storys are all pretty good. Some are better then others. The first story is the best one. All of the storys are funny. Theres something for everyone. I liked the book. It was a good read. I say go to your library and check it out. I think everyone sould read it at least once.

iron man 2 review

I went to the movies with katie and pete and we saw iron man 2. It was awesome. My first summer movie and it was a blast. It's funniner then the first movie. I laughed though out the whole movie. This one is more exciting, it has more action then the original movie. Theres lots of shout outs to the comic books for all you comic book fans. The bad guy whiplash is good but we don,t see enough of him. scarlett johansson was great. She only has one little fight scene but it,s still good. When don cheadle suits up as war machine it's pretty cool. The fight between war machine and iron man was kick ass. The story was even good. The only bad thing i can say about the movie is the hero vs bad guy battle at the end of the movie was really short. I could,t believe how short it was. If you want to see just a fun movie then go see iron man 2. The great thing about these movies is that people like my sister who are not into comic books love these movies. Even my sister said she loved the movie. When it comes to movies like this you know if my sister likes it then you know it must be a good movie. So trust me even if your not into comic books, you,ll still enjoy iron man. I would say it,s better then the first one. I give it 3 and a half stars.

I,M PISSED OFF. YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME RIGHT, THEY END IT WITH A CLIFF HANGER. THIS IS JUST WHAT I KNEW IT WOULD BE AND THAT IS IT WAS MORE A SEASON FINALE INSTEAD OF A SERIES FINALE. THE FIRST HOUR WAS ALL SET UP AND EVERYTHING HAPPENED IN THE LAST HOUR. WHAT LITTLE ACTION WE GOT HAPPENED IN THE LAST HOUR. I SAY FOX HAS TO BRING BACK 24 FOR ONE LAST GOOD SEASON AND GIVE US FANS A GOOD ENDING TO THIS SHOW. MY 1 YEAR OLD NEPHEW OR GODSON COULD HAVE WROTE A BETTER FINALE. EVERYTHING FELT SO RUSHED TOO. I,M SHOCKED THAT THIS IS HOW THEY ALLOW THE SHOW TO END. I HOPE AFTER SEEING THIS FINALE THAT FANS DEMAND FOX BRING 24 BACK NEXT YEAR. Well lost ends tonight. I was thinking about lost and also thinking about how when we get to the end of shows like lost, sould every question be answered. I think yes because fans have watched that show for x number of years and i believe fans sould get all there questions answered. The creators said they will not answer every question by the end series end. They said they want fans to still have things to talk about when lost is over. I think it,s wrong to withhold or not even come up with answers for questions that fans have. This goes to show the creators of lost did,t learn from the mistakes of chris carter and the x-files. The x-files was my generations lost. With every answer we got, we came up with 100 more questions. I feel like if the creators of lost did answer every question, those answers would just give fans tons of stuff to talk about. Those answers would lead to more questions. I really hope the series finale is nothing short of excellent. I hope lost fans get a much better series finale then the x-files got. I was really let down by the x-files series finale, so to all you lost fans GOOD LUCK. I can,t wait to read the reviews for the lost series finale.

Shrek 4 review

Well I saw shrek 4 today and I liked it. I think it,s good they are ending the series now. It,s running out of gas and also running out of story ideas. The movie is the most story driven out of the whole series. That's not a bad thing but it,s not as funny as the early ones. It,s better then the 3d one. Puss in boots is where all the best laughs come from. There is a scene where fiona asks puss who's a pretty kitty and he says me. That made me really laugh. It,s funny seeing puss looking so big, he makes you really laugh. We see fiona looking like a warrior and kicking lots of ass. It is interesting seeing the whole it's a wonderful life thing done with these characters but i think they could have done more with the idea. I think the problem is shrek started off as something both grown ups and kids could enjoy but the movies have become more for kids and that means the movies have lost that bite the early ones had. This one is more a fantasy then comedy. So don,t expect to laugh out loud. It does have it's funny bits but it's not as funny as the others were. It is a good ending. I,m glad i saw it and i,ll still buy it when it comes out so that i,ll have the whole series. Go to a early afternoon show. If you liked the others you will like this last shrek movie. I give it 2 and a half stars.

wipeout

The season premire of wipeout is june 22. It,s a game show where people have to try to climb past a wall that trys to knock them off by hitting them then they have to try running across 4 giant red balls and if they take too long then something knocks them off the landing. After they get though the first 2 rounds then they have to get though the main course. They have to try walking up this landing where water will come rushing at them to send them back to start again. The show is funny as hell. It is a good summer show. This is the shows 3d season.

My friend mike has his own website. It,s all about legos. He has a excellent imagination and can make anything out of legos. His website is countblockula.com and it has drawings, photos, models, a little video. Wait until you see his lego models they are awesome. He has gone to alot of lego cons, he has event met people who work for the lego company and have said they love his stuff. My friend jim is excellent at drawing pictures but my friend mike is excellent at bulding things with legos. Mike even had a lego display at a mall for awhile. His site is cool. I,m going to tell you about my friend jim biggies blog jogging with Llamas. His blog is about art, design, music, pop culture, movies, comic books. His day job is as a graphic designer, thats what he does to pay the bills. He is really a comic book writer thats about to make his big debut this fall. He wrote a zombie comic that will be in a horror anthology called zombie bomb. He has been working on his own comic book that will come out next year. You can see some of his artwork on his blog. His artwork is excellent,it,s always diffent and orignal. It grabs you right away and it,s something new that you will like or love. My friend has been working for a long time to break into the comic book world and he,s finally making his dream come true and i,m very happy for him. I told him i want the first signed copy of his comic book. This way i can tell people yeah i know him and also if he becomes the next stan lee in 20, 30 years i could sell his comic and become rich. I sould ask him for 2 signed copys, one to keep for myself and one to sell. I think everyone sould check out his blog, it is pretty cool. I give his blog 4 stars.

the end of law and order

Law and Order has been canceled. Law and order has been on the air for 20 years now. It is tied with a old western show called gunsmoke as the longest running tv series ever. I think it,s a shame that law and order will not get a series finale or a last season. I think it,s like having the red sox or pats win every game but for some reason they get told no you will not get to play the super bowl or world series. Sports fans would be in a uproar if that ever happened. Thats why you hear so ofen about tv fans getting together to save there fave tv shows from being canceled. The fans tell the tv big wigs this is what we want to see instead of whatever new crappy show you have planned. It pisses me off when a tv series does,t get a end. Law and order sould get a final season and a series finale but instead of giving the original series one last season, we will instead get another law and order spin off that will take place in LA. Hell they could give us law and order boston or melrose and i still would rather see the original series get one last season. This is one of those once in a life time things where i don,t think we will ever see another show last as long as law and order did. I,m not counting animated shows because they seem to usually last for a long time when the right cartoon comes along at the right time. It,s not right that law and order will not get a series finale.

history of doctor who part 2

The doctors time machine looks like a 1960's police call box. The idea for the doctors time machine was that it could make itself look like anything to better fit in whatever world or time the doctor would be in. In the very first episode the doctor is in london of 1963 so his time machine made itself look like a police call box. The doctor does have some bad guys that keep coming back time and again. His biggest bad guys are the daleks, the cybermen, and the master. The doctors oldest bad guys are the daleks. superman has lex luthor, batman has the joker, the doctor has the daleks. The daleks are aliens that live in these robot bodys. The daleks goal is to wipe out and kill everything until there is nothing left but the daleks. The master is a time lord like the doctor but he became evil and he is like the doctors darkside. If the doctor was like sherlock holmes then the master would be like professor moriarty. The cybermen are robots that have had human brains put into there bodys.

summer movie season

Well the summer movie season starts today with iron man 2. Then next week we get robin hood and the week after we get sherk 4. In june we get toy story 3 and the A-TEAM. In aug we get the expendables and predators. I hope to see iron man 2 this weekend. I,m a huge pixar fan so i,m very excited about toy story 3. I loved the old A-TEAM tv show. I have been open minded about the movie and the newest preview for it has now made me want to see the movie. I,m still not crazy about the new cast for the a-team but i do like that they are using the black van from the show. The expendables is a action movie that sly stallone made. It,s a thowback to the action movies from the 1980s. So expect lots of stuff blowing up, gun battles, man to man fights. The movie has alot of action stars and it looks like it sould be a fun movie. Predators really sould be called predator 3. I have yet to see the preview for it but it sounds like it sould be a good movie. What movies are you most excited for?

Well I just read we will get a sequel to the dark crystal. It will of course be in 3D. I,m getting sick of the fact that every damn big movie has to be in 3D now. I,m really sick of the whole 3D thing and the sad part is it,s just starting. I,ll have to put up with this 3D craze for at least another 2 or 3 years. I,m sad just thinking about that. I did love 3D movies at one time. I remember the first movie i saw in 3D was freddys dead and i loved it. After seeing avatar i now hate 3D and I want the 3D craze to end right now. I don,t like that movies that have already been made are being forced to have 3D added to them. Like clash of the titans got 3D forced on it after damn avatar became a monster hit. Even my beloved harry potter is having 3D forced on it and my problem with that is it means the start of the movie will be in 3D and theres big stuff that happens that people will miss because of the 3D.

Well guess which old tv show is finally coming out on dvd. MAX HEADROOM. Yes Max headroom is coming out on dvd this summer. It comes out sometime in august. It's the whole series. I already preordered it. I can,t remember the last time i watched max headroom. I know the f/x will look outdated and very cheesy and campy. I loved the show and i know i,ll have so much fun watching it.

my thoughts on nightmare on elm st

Freddy Krueger has always been my favorite movie monster. Out of all the movie monsters that came out when i was a kid growing up Freddy was the best out of all the movie monsters. Freddy stood out from the rest because he got you in your dreams. The other movie monsters were cool and scary in there own ways but they were no way near as scary as Freddy. Freddy wanted to scare you, mess with your mind before he killed you. Freddy in the early movies would be in the shadows, you never got a good look at him until it was too late. You never knew if what was happening a dream or if it was for real. So the movies would keep you guessing. In most horror movies during the 1980's you never really cared about the teenagers but you did care about them in the nightmare movies. Freddy was the stuff nightmares are made of. Freddy also stood out because he talked unlike the other monsters like jason and michael myers who never said anything in there movies. Freddy's glove was also new and diffent from anything else we had ever seen before. Freddy in the dream world could be anywhere and make anything happen. You really could't run away from freddy and the only way you cloud get away from Freddy is by wakeing up. The nightmare on elm st movies were the most original horror movies during the 80's. Wes Craven a nightmare on elm st will always be one of my all time favorite scary movies.

I just read that the new muppet movie will come out next year. The new movie is called the worlds greatest muppet movie. I,m very excited that we are getting a new muppet movie. The new movie will be about how kermit has to get the muppets back together again so they can save the old theatre where the muppet show took place and the muppets come up with the idea of putting on a new muppet show.

kick ass review

I saw kick ass and it is the 2nd best movie I have seen so far this year. I would say kick ass is a must see movie for every comic book fan. I would also tell people if you don,t have a sick and twisted sense of humor then stay far away from kick ass. I was hoping the movie would be good but it was better then i thought it be. I was't expecting the movie to be as funny as it was. I laughed my ass off though out the whole movie. This is a movie where i did,t know everything that was going to happen when i walked into the movie theatre. The movie really did surprise me which does't happen often because i usally know everything about the movie because of what i read online. I have to say nic cage gave his best performance in years. Nic Cage as big daddy was just excellent. He has not been this good in years. I have to talk about Chloe Moretz as HIT-GIRL. I can only say WOW. This little girl steals the movie away from everyone even nic cage. She was just excellent, I could't believe how good this girl was. When we first meet hit-girl we hear the banana splits theme music. This was such a fun movie to watch. I sould tell people the blood and gore is done in a outrageous, over the top way. Kick ass is a very bloody movie. Trust me when i say this is not a movie for kids. I give kick ass 4 stars. I really want to see this movie again.

Well here is my review of the season premire of doctor who. It starts off with a bang, the tardis is crashing to earth and the doctor is hanging off the tardis. The tardis crashs and the doctor gets out and meets this young girl and the start of the show is exciting and pretty funny. The doctor does,t know it yet but he just met his new companion. The doctor meets her again 12 years later and she,s all grown up and she,s a cop. Her name is amy pond. The doctors new companion is smart, strong, good looking. She is the perfect match for this new doctor. This is the youngest looking doctor in the history of the show. This new doctor is wacky, crazy, wild, but he is still THE DOCTOR. I liked the new actor. I think he will make for a good doctor. The premire was all about meeting this new doctor, setting up the new season, the doctor meeting his new compantion amy. The doctor goes after a escaped alien prisoner. We see these space ships looking for the alien and one of the space ships has this giant eyeball. It,s everything you would expect from doctor who. It is a good fun, exciting, funny start to the new season. The premire was great.

the history of doctor who

Doctor who is the longest running tv show in history. Doctor who started in 1963 and was canceled in 1989. So it ran for 26 years by the time it was cancled.The Doctor is a time lord who travels though space and time. The doctor has always had companions. His first companions were his granddaughter susan, susans school teachers barbara and ian, starting with the 2nd doctor was the brigadier and then sarah jane smith was the companion of the 3d and 4th doctors. Because the first doctor was played by a older actor, when the first actor left the show they came up with the idea that the doctor can die but his body can regenerate and he can come back to life. So when one actor leaves the show we see the doctor die then regenerate into the new actor. It,s been said on the show the doctor can only regenerate 12 times. The show finally came back in 2005. This new series is a continuation of the old series. The show also has had spin off series like the sarah jane adventures, torchwood. This new season will see the start of the 11th doctor.

I just watched the real slim shady video in honor of andrew. Andrew Dargan was a big kid. He really loved his family and friends. For as long as i can remember we have always had pets. Andrew loved our first dog and cat, baby and fluffy. Today we have our big girl of a dog because of andrew. After our dog baby died, Andrew went out one day and he comes home with this little dog after his arm and as soon as we saw her we loved her. Andrew loved taking her out running and walking. He loved playing with her. He loved playing sports, softball,baseball,golf and hockey. Hockey was his life. He loved playing hockey. I know if he could have gotten the chance he would have played for his fave team the boston bruins. I remember going to his hockey games, always rooting for him. I did,t go to every game because i did,t like being in those freezing cold hockey rinks. I now wish i went to more of his games. I may never have told andrew but he was the best hockey player in the world. Andrews fave hoilday was christmas. He always had katie sleep in our room on xmas eve and he was always the first one up, then he wake up katie, me, then mom and dad. His eyes always lit up when he saw how good st.nick had been to us. Andrew was always a happy go lucky kid. He loved to laugh, play jokes, always had a smile on his face. Andrew loved being with his family and friends. I,ll always love you andrew. I think of you everyday.

I can,t believe it has been 4 years since andrew died. It does,t seem possbile that it,s been that long. I miss andrew so much. I don,t think i can ever put into words how much it has hurt me to lose andrew. I still remember that night and that week. That whole week i did,t cry at all even at the wake and funural. It was,t just shock,i think with out joking that i really lost my mind. I really think my mind just snapped and it did,t hit me until the day after the funural. I went out for a walk then it hit me like a ton of brinks. I went to his grave and cryed there for 2 hrs. I did,t know what to do, how to think or feel. Nothing that big had ever happened to me before and i had never lost someone that i loved as much as andrew. I was only able to handle it as well as i did because of my family and friends. My friends helped me out and for that i,m thankful to them. I know people were worried about me because i did,t talk about it or cry as much as everyone else. I always thought of myself as a tough guy and i always kept my feelings to myself. I think now that i did,t want to cry because i thought if i start i will not be able to stop. The hardest part for me is we still don,t know everything that happened the night andrew died. I love you andrew. you were a great brother. I wish you could have met luke. you would love luke.

COMIC CON REVIEW

Well the comic con was good. I had fun. I and my friends were shocked when we saw how long the line was. We had to wait outside for a hour before getting in to the comic con. I got 2 tradebacks signed by Mike Mignola. He is the guy that does the hellboy comic books. I also got she-hulk number 1 for only 5$. There were people dressed up as superman, batman,spiderman,wonder woman. My godson conner was awesome. Conner was happy all day, smiling and laughing. I got conner a stuffed toy. The only bad thing I can say about it is there were so many people that I could't get at anything and I could't really look at anything. There was so much i wanted to look at. One of the actresses from buffy the vampire slayer was there but i did,t get to meet her. It was a fun day with my friends and godson. I was happy that i got to hang out with my friends and godson for the day. I can't wait for the next one. The next comic con is wizard world in the fall. Wizard world is the biggest comic con of the year. There's always big stars not just from comic books but also from all the big comic book movies. Wizard world is the first weekend of october.

I have been watching taxi and just finished season 4 tonight. In one of the episodes was a pacman arcade game. I love the old arcade games. I came up with a crazy idea when I turned 30 that I wanted to buy one of the old arcade games for myself. There was a movie called the king of kong and it's about this guy that beats the donkey kong world top score. This is where I got the idea for wanting to get one of the old games for myself. I thought since the old games have been around forever that I sould be able to get one cheap. I was to find out how wrong I was about this. I looked first at ebay and was shocked when i saw the arcade games cost like 700$, 1000$ 1500$, 2000$. Then there is the shipping which i kept seeing it cost like over 300$. I still have not gotten a arcade game because of how much money i have to spend on not just the game but the shipping. I read not long ago that someone just beat the new high score for donkey kong. What I have been thinking is I like to try beating the top score for donkey kong. What I want to ask everyone is am I crazy for wanting to do it? So I forget about it or do it?

Well it's April, it looks like spring is here! The weather starts to get nice, the sun starts coming out more and the days start to get longer! April is a hard time for me, this coming week will be a hard week because of Andrew. I always try to watch more comedy's and try to watch stuff that will make me feel better and make me laugh. I,m sure you will notice i,ll be watching alot of the old tv shows during this month. I started things off with "Taxi". I just got "Taxi" seasons 2,3,4. I just finished watching taxi season 2 tonight.For anyone not old enough to remember taxi was a show about cab drivers during the late 70s/early 80s. You had the boss from hell Louie depalma, Alex, Bobby who was also a actor, tony who was also a boxer, Elaine, latka, and reverend Jim. The show is still funny as hell. I have been laughing my ass off watching it. I remember watching it as a kid and watching it now as a grown up theres tons of stuff that i know went over my head as a kid. Like Christopher Lloyd as reverend Jim was some goofy wacky guy and as a kid i did,t know he had done drugs and thats why he acts the way he does. The show had the perfect cast, it,s funny because of the characters, the lines, the story's. For a show thats over 30 years old now, it holds up well. I really enjoy watching the old stuff like this.

movie review

Well I watched "Fantastic Mr.Fox" last night and, it was good. I've been looking forward to seeing it because I love animated movies, plus this movie has a great cast. The movie stars George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartman. The stop motion animation is excellent. I couldn't believe how well done the animation was. The movie is pretty funny, you do laugh out loud at a few scenes. The voice acting is excellent, my man Bill Murray steals every scene he's in. I did,t know what to expect from the movie because i never read the book. I have never read any of Roald Dahl's books. I was surprised at how good the movie really was. Most kids movies now a days just suck and a lot of them end up having good actors and actresses in them but sometimes even the best actor or actress can,t save a crappy movie. I was happy at how good the movie was and how much i enjoyed it. This is not just a kids movie, a lot of adults will also enjoy this movie. I hope adults don't pass on seeing "Fantastic Mr.Fox" because they think it's just a kids movie, this is the kind of movie that's for everyone. I would say it's almost more for adults because there's so much more that adults will get that will go over kids heads. This is still a kids movie and there's lots for the kids to enjoy. give this movie a chance. I give it 3 stars.

spensers wild west story

I just finished reading robert parkers potshot. This is the 28th spenser book. It is one of my fave spenser books. It is pretty much a western story for today. This woman hires spenser to find out who killed her husband and theres a gang called the dell that makes the business owners pay them and the dell take whatever they want from the town. spenser takes on some members of the dell and then the mayor of the town hires spenser to get rid of the dell. The book is one of my faves because it is a western story. It,s like the magnificent seven as written by robert parker. The story is good, the dialogue is good. It,s funny and exciting, action packed. The only bad thing about it is theres so much build up to the ending and all the action happens too fast. the ending needed to be longer and there sould have been more action at the end.It,s still one of the better books that has came out in the last 10 years. even though it is book number 28 the series was still going strong and the next 2 books are good then the series started going down hill. Anyone that likes westerns or is a robert parker fan sould read potshot. I give the book 3 stars.

random thoughts

Every once in a while i may just write about random stuff that was on my mind that day. For anyone who read about the new nes game i wrote about this afternoon, it got me thinking about andrew. I thought about how much fun we had playing games on the first nintendo. games like super mario bros,zelda,punch out, spy hunter, any sport games, fighting games. Andrew was always better at video games then me, he would always be the first to beat any game. he would show me like how to beat super mario bros 2. There were a few games where i could kick his butt at. I sometimes kicked his ass at games like track and field, some basketball game and even a hockey game. I been thinking that mybe i get a old nintendo from ebay and i know andrew would think i,m crazy since i have a nintendo wii. I bet if i did get one and got that new game for it i know he play it with me and he want me to get all the games we used to have and he get hooked on all the old games. I know he would have looked at ebay and asked me to get him all his fave nes games. It would have been fun to play a new nes game with andrew.

movie release dates

this spring we will get the remake of a nightmare on elm st. Anyone who knows me knows that the original nightmare on elm st is one of my all time fave scary movies. I,m sure everyone will be shocked when i say that i have zero interest in seeing the remake. The remake comes out april 30 then iron man 2 comes out may 7. So the elm st remake gets almost a week to itself before the first summer blockbuster comes out and crushs it to death. Iron man 2 will make a ton of money and everyone and there mother will go see iron man 2. People will forget that the elm st movie is even out because it will be all about iron man. For anyone who remembers grindhouse came out in april 2007 and it bombed. It made next to no money, i think it made only 3 million and it cost like 60 million to make. it,s never a good idea to put out a horror movie in the spring and to put out a horror movie so close to a big comic book movie is just dumb. No one will see that horror movie but everyone will see the comic book movie. It would be smarter to put out any horror after all the big summer movies have came out. I feel bad for the makers of the elm st remake, it will make all it,s money opening weekend then it will bomb big time because of iron man 2.

book review

I just finished reading for the first time alices adventures in wonderland and through the looking glass. I loved both of them. They are just such fun storys to read. For most movie versions of alice always put bits of looking glass into the movie. It was interesting to see what scenes came from each story. I still like wonderland more then the sequel looking glass. I did like that the mad hatter shows up in looking glass but his name is changed to hatta. Wonderland is more of a fantasy story and i say looking glass is more like a adventure story. The storys are so much fun to read because you never have any idea as to what will happen next. I,m sure alot of readers would say theres really no plot or story, it,s just alot of nonsense and nothing makes sense. Well i would say thats the point of the alice storys is that they are about nonsense and are not meant to make sense. You just have to allow yourself to be taken for a wild ride through wonderland and the looking glass world.The one thing i did,t like about tim burtons new movie is he made the jabberwocky a dragon. I always thought of it as just a monster or creature and did,t know it was like a dragon. the part with tweedledum and tweedledee is longer and funnier then what i was expecting. Both storys are a must read.

movie review of tim burtons alice in wonderland

I was very excited to see tim burtons alice in wonderland. You would think who better to make a new movie based on alice in wonderland but tim burton. You would think it be the perfect match of film maker and story. Well in this case you would be wrong. This is not alice in wonderland, it,s just another fantasy movie that ends with a big battle. I kept thinking that this is not wonderland. The characters you love like the mad hatter, and all the rest are not what you expect. The tea party scene is always the most fun and funny part of any movie version and in this movie it,s dark and not at all what you expect or want it to be like. it still has it,s funny bits to it but it sould have been better. Johnny deep is good as the mad hatter but the mistake tim burton made was trying to make him the star of the movie. I have loved the story of alice in wonderland ever since i first saw the disney version of it as a kid. The good thing about the movie is it made me really want to read the book. helen carter was great as the red queen. My mom really wants to see this movie and i,ll take her to see it. I think now that i know what the movie is like mybe i,ll enjoy it more. There is a good idea behind this movie by making it a sequel to the other storys. It,s too bad it does,t live up to the classic storys.

hulk movie news

Well i just read that ed norton has said he does,t want to do another hulk movie. I say i may have to hulk out and smash ed norton. I loved the new hulk movie,it was so much better then ang lees movie. I have been waiting to hear when we would get a sequel. The new movie ends by setting up the leader to be the main bad guy for the sequel. I was excited to see where they would take the hulk and what they would do with him and i wondered what storys we might see done from the comic books. Ed norton did say we may still see hulk in the avengers movie. I say get rid of ed norton so we can get a hulk sequel and let me make the next hulk movie. So who thinks i could make a good hulk movie?

farscape review

I finished watching farscape this week and it was excellent.The show is a must see for all scifi fans. I was,t crazy about season 4. I felt like alot of the episodes were not needed and any episodes that did,t move the story forward i just did,t care about. I do want to talk about one episode that is for season 3 or 4 that was done like a classic looney tunes cartoon and it was funny as hell. I laughed my ass off. Season 4 ends on a huge cliffhanger that must have made fans scream since the show got canceled after the end of season 4. They were planning on ending farscape with season 5 and because the scifi ch sucks that did,t happen. What did happen is because of the fans, the people who made farscape got to make a tv movie so that farscape could get a series finale. The movie the peacekeeper wars was a excellent end to farscape. it wrapped everything up, it answered all your ? and it still surprised, shocked you with where it went and also to what happened to everyone. The first 3 seasons of farscape are excellent and season 4 is very hit and miss. season 4 does start getting good near the end of the season and the last bunch of episodes are great. I say that every scifi fan needs to watch this show.

24 news

well it looks like 24 might get canceled soon. It will be a real shame if fox does cancel the show. The reason it will be a shame is because this season sucks. This season got off to a good start then it went down hill real fast and i don,t see how it can recover since we are at the halfway point for the season. At the end of 24s 5th season kiefer sutherland signed a 3 year deal to stay with the show until this new season. I always thought season 8 would be the last year for the show. Kiefer sutherland got paid 40 million dollar$ to do seasons 6,7,8. I think the way the story was set up for this season could have been a good way to end things but then it all went out the window and we were left with crappy storylines that the fans hate. The ratings for 24 have been dropping all season and thats because the show sucks so much that i think only diehard fans are still watching it at this point. I got into 24 late, like i think i started watching it around season 3. I borrowed seasons 1 and 2 from a friend and watched them on dvd. I was hooked from the first episode. The show has been excllent for the most part. Most fans would say season 6 is the baddest season but i think season 8 is the most awful season of the whole series. Fox has to bring back 24 for a good final season.

boondock saints 2 review

WOW,this movie was so bad and awful.I love boondock saints, it,s a great little movie that got screwed over and everyone discovered it on videotape then dvd. The first one came out over 10 years ago and this past fall we finally got a sequel and this sequel sucks big time. If i did,t know the same guy who wrote and made the first one also made this one, i would have thought this sequel was made by someone else who never saw the first movie. The movie is a joke and i,m shocked the reviews for it were so good. I could,t wait to see this movie and it was a big let down. I say they have to make another one to make up for how bad this one was. Most of the original cast did come back for this crappy movie and even such good actors could,t save this movie. Don,t waste your time or money on boondock saints 2. Trust me when i say just watch the first movie again. I give boondock saints 2, just 1 star.

Futurama will be on comedy central. The season starts June 24 at 10:00. So Futurama starts 2 days before my birthday! I can't wait to see the new season of Futurama.

percy jackson and the lightning thief review

I just went to the movies and saw Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. It was better then I thought it would be. You know, or can guess what will happen next. There's no surprises at all in the movie. The f/x was good, the monsters were alright. The movie was funny. I did laugh a lot. If you like kid oriented fantasy movies or know anything about the Greek gods you will enjoy this movie. It's a fun little movie. It's based on a children s book series. I liked it enough that I'm now interested in reading the book. I recommend if you do see it in the theaters, go in the afternoon. The movie is not worth the 10$ to see it at night. I did enjoyed it. I give it 3 stars for being fun and being better then I expected.

The return of Futurama

Good news everyone! We will see the return of Futurama this June. The new season will be 12 episodes long.

24 season 8

I thought the new season of 24 got off to a great start. The first 4 episodes were good, exciting, and action packed. After episode 4, it just went downhill very fast and i was ready to give up on the show because- that's how awful this season has been. This weeks episode was good enough and had enough action to keep me watching the show. I figure that since we are now halfway into this season, I might as well continue to watch the rest of the shows to see if 24 gets any better.

My First Movie Review

I thought my first movie review would be for a movie such as Star Wars, but my dad asked me to write about the new movie Shutter Island. I'd like to start off by saying that Shutter Island is the first- must see movie of 2010. Everyone should go out and see Shutter Island in the movie theaters. It's really that good! I have to say that the acting in the movie is excellent. And that includes everyone- from Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, and Max Von Sydow. The previews make it seem like it could be a scary horror movie. Well, it's really not a horror movie at all. It's a thriller. And it's actually more of a suspense movie- and creepy. But it's not really scary. The movie does keep you guessing as to what might happen next. I read Dennis Lehane's book, and i thought his book was great. I've only read the book once though, so I couldn't tell what they might have changed or simply left out. The movie was just as good as the book. I think DiCaprio could be up for an Oscar next year for Shutter Island- because that's how good he was. I've been a long time fan of Martin Scorsese, and this is one of his great movies. And this is actually the first thriller he has made since Cape Fear, which came out back in 1991. Scorsese is mostly known for his mob movies, but he also makes great thrillers. And I hope he doesn't wait too long to make another! I have to say Shutter Island gets 4 stars. Forget Avatar! Go out and see Shutter Island!

Comic Book Movie News!

Chris Nolan's brother Jonah Nolan will direct the next Superman movie. Chris Nolan after he finishes filming Batman 3, will direct the Justice League of America movie. David Goyer will co-write the new Superman movie with Jonah Nolan. It's cool to think that Chris Nolan will direct the new J.L.A. movie. For anyone that doesn't know about the Justice League of America comic book series, I'll write up a little history about it later on.

New Tim Burton Movie!

I'm excited to go and see Tim Burton's new Alice in Wonderland movie! I think Johnny Depp will be great as the Mad Hatter. I think I've seen every movie version that's ever been made of Alice in Wonderland! I first saw the Disney cartoon and loved it and have seen every version that's been made ever since. I know the story and characters well, but i have never actually read any of the books. I know this might surprise and shock everyone, but I've have never actually read Alice in Wonderland before. I plan on getting the book soon. Everyone should know that Tim Burton's new movie will be a sequel to the first 2 books Alice in Wonderland, and Though the Looking Glass. In this new movie version, Alice is 18 years old and has forgotten about her first trip to Wonderland as a child. Everyone in Wonderland from the White Rabbit, to the Mad Hatter still remembers Alice though. The Red Queen has taken over Wonderland, and it's up to Alice to free Wonderland from evil. I'm very surprised that it's taken Tim Burton this long to do a movie based on Alice in Wonderland!

Right now, I'm watching Farscape. Farscape ran for a total of 4 seasons. It was on the Sci-Fi channel from 1999-2003. I just got the whole series on Amazon for $59.99! I've already watched seasons 1 and 2. I just started watching season 3. The show is about an astronaut named John Crichton, who is testing a new spaceship when he ends up in this wormhole and finds himself in a part of the galaxy that no human has ever seen before. He ends up on this living ship named Monya, and when he first arrives, he gets into the middle of a wild prison break. Monya is a prison ship and all of the Aliens have just broken themselves free. When Crichton first arrives, there's an Alien, a warrior, a King and a nun. We find out during season 1, that not all of the Aliens are guilty of the crimes they were put in prison for. Crichton and his new Alien shipmates, are stuck and trying to find a way to get back home. This was a Jim Henson Company Series, so some of the Aliens are Muppets. I never realized this when I watched the show when it was first on, but it is a very original show, I can honestly say that it was way ahead of it's time. The Aliens are truly Alien! The creature designs are just awesome! The characters are in danger at all times. Anything can happen to any one character at any time, so no one is ever safe. The show keeps you guessing about what will happen next. Every Sci-Fi fan should watch Farscape!

robert parker books

Author robert parker also came up with 2 new characters named jesse stone and sunny randall. robert parker newest book which just came out last week is the newest jesse stone book. The new book is called split image. This is book number 9 in the jesse stone series. The series starts off with jesse getting laid off from the l.a. cop force, his wife is cheating on him, he,s drinking too much. He ends up getting hired as the new police chief in paradise. Where the spenser books can be light, the jesse stone books are heavy and hard hitting. anyone can read the spenser books but from my point of view the stone books are more for grown ups. The storys and plots have more going on, the mysterys are better, the books give you more to think about. For parkers other P.I. sunny randall, the character was created for actress helen hunt. robert parker and helen hunt met and became friends and she asked him to creat a character for her to play in a movie. So robert parker came up with sunny randall and wrote what became the first book in a new series. He took the story everywhere but no one and i mean no one wanted helen hunt to play the part. Hollywood big shots wanted any other actress for the role. so robert parker published the story as a book and it was a bestseller and he had a new book series.

spenser books

i,m sure everyone heard how author robert parker died in early january from a heart attack. he is the author of the spenser book series. spenser is a private eye that works and lives in boston. almost all the spenser novels take place in or around boston. we have seen melrose in one of the spenser books and both melrose and malden have been talked about in the books. It,s fun reading about places you know in books. For everyone old enough to remember there was a tv series based off the books called spenser for hire. robert urich was spenser, avery brooks was hawk and barbara stock was susan silverman and there was pearl the wonder dog. The tv series was awesome, it was filmed here in boston for 3 years. the show was a big hit but i don,t think it ever was as big as cheers or any other shows that were on at that time. it was canceled after the end of season 3. To me and alot of other fans robert urich was spenser. avery brooks was great as hawk and barbara stock was good as susan. Whenever i read the spenser books, i always picture robert urich as spenser. After hearing that robert parker died, i reread the newest spenser book then went back to read some of the other new spenser books then i went back to the very start of the series and started reading the book series in order. I have been reading the spenser book series for most of the winter. I,m now on book 17. There are 37 spenser books in all.
