My First Movie Review

I thought my first movie review would be for a movie such as Star Wars, but my dad asked me to write about the new movie Shutter Island. I'd like to start off by saying that Shutter Island is the first- must see movie of 2010. Everyone should go out and see Shutter Island in the movie theaters. It's really that good! I have to say that the acting in the movie is excellent. And that includes everyone- from Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, and Max Von Sydow. The previews make it seem like it could be a scary horror movie. Well, it's really not a horror movie at all. It's a thriller. And it's actually more of a suspense movie- and creepy. But it's not really scary. The movie does keep you guessing as to what might happen next. I read Dennis Lehane's book, and i thought his book was great. I've only read the book once though, so I couldn't tell what they might have changed or simply left out. The movie was just as good as the book. I think DiCaprio could be up for an Oscar next year for Shutter Island- because that's how good he was. I've been a long time fan of Martin Scorsese, and this is one of his great movies. And this is actually the first thriller he has made since Cape Fear, which came out back in 1991. Scorsese is mostly known for his mob movies, but he also makes great thrillers. And I hope he doesn't wait too long to make another! I have to say Shutter Island gets 4 stars. Forget Avatar! Go out and see Shutter Island!
