the history of giallos

I,m going to tell everyone about giallos. Now i,m sure your thinking what the hell is a giallo. It is a type of movie. A giallo is both a mystery and horror movie. Like most mysterys it makes you think and also it scares you like a horror movie. Giallo is the italan word for the color yellow. Every mystery book back in the 30s and 40s had yellow covers because yellow was the cheapest color paper to buy and use in those days. The giallo movies were created by mario bava in the 1960s but most horror fans would say dario argento created the giallo movies. Dario argento helped make giallos as big as they are now. A giallo is kind of like a cross between a hitchcock movie and a slasher movie. Giallos are kind of like a smart slasher movie where instead of it being just about blood, guts, gore, it cares about the story it,s telling and characters. My fave giallos are all made by dario argento. I,m going to start writing reviews of dario argentos giallos. Look for the first review tonight.
