John carpenter came up with the idea of doing new halloween movies that would have nothing to do with michael myers. His idea was to put out a new scary movie every october that would somehow be about or take place around halloween. Each movie would be diffent and original. The downfall of this awesome idea was calling the first movie halloween 3 season of the witch. Now because it was called halloween 3, everyone expected it to be about michael myers. When the movie came out and everyone went to see it and found out hey michael myers is not in this movie, fans got pissed off. I think it would have been a better idea to drop the halloween title and just called it season of the witch or at the very least they sould have dropped the number off the title. Because michael myers had nothing to do with the movie, fans hated the movie, no one really went to see it and because it bombed at the box office that is what killed i think such a great idea. I think the idea is still good and i like to see john carpenter still do something with the idea.
