book review

I just finished reading the last spenser book by robert parker. The book is called sixkill. I,m going to start off by saying i,ll miss spending time with spenser and reading about his newest case he,s working on. I remember watching the tv show spenser for hire in reruns and was a fan of the show then much later on i picked up one of the spenser books and read it and after finishing it. I went back and started reading the book series from book 1 all the way up to the newest book that was out at the time. I became a big fan of the book series and i think the early books are still the best ones and the books did get better as they went on. Ever long running book series has it,s ups and downs, each book is hit or miss and after some point i feel the books became more miss then hit. It,s only because of how much i liked spenser that i kept reading each new book. It,s a shame the series ended with sixkill. It,s not a bad book but the story is somewhat better then the last few books and as much as i hate to say it but it was boring. Not nearly as exciting as the older books, only a few fights and one very fast gun fight. It was still fast paced and still funny. If your a spenser fan then take it out of the library or wait for the paperback to buy the book. I give the last spenser book 2 stars.
